You know that saying that there is “no I in team?” Those that say it, well, they’re wrong.
I’ve been dealing with some fall-out at work lately. Now I’m not going to go into the details of what happened, but I will say that I deserved everything I got from it, and it was totally my fault. I’m accountable for my actions.
That being said, I’ve had to take a hard look in the mirror lately, and I’ve come to the realization that I’m not much of a team player.
I do a good job at what I do. I’m efficient. I get my work-load done. And I absolutely hate having to pick up the slack for other’s.
I hate having to deal with “weak link’s in the chain.” And there’s always at least one weak link in the chain. In my specific case, there are three.

*Sigh*
I’m diplomatic as hell, until diplomacy fails. Then I’m blunt and brutal. And that hurts “tha feelz.”
It’s sad when I’m the oldest guy on the front line, and the guys younger than me are usually in better shape than me, and I’m kicking their ass daily on the job. I’ve had injuries to my knee that has slowed me down over the years and I’m still faster and more efficient than they are.
“How does it feel?”
“How does what feel?”
“Getting your ass kicked daily by an old man?”
That’s gotta hurt. That’s gotta chap the old buttcheeks.

That’s the story of my life, at 50 years old out work everyone, but I’m always in better shape than everyone. 38 years of manual labor toughens a man.
